Good Copywriting Doesn't Matter, It's Marketing That is Important

So would better copy make product launches even more profitable?

Seems like a no-brainer to me!

I’d even go so far as to suggest that anyone who asserts that Product Launch Formula has rendered solid sales copy obsolete is leaving a TON of money on the table.

In fact, I’d hazard a guess that their weak copy is costing them at least three-fourths of the money they should be making.

Because while the biggest launch I heard of last year was pulling in a reported $20 million, I was generating four times more:

A whopping $80 million in online sales. From two lists that are about one-tenth the size of the affiliate lists most product launch marketer’s use.

Sure: I used plenty of the principles Jeff recommends without having any idea I was doing so.

I created campaigns that went on for four to eight weeks each. I incorporated every type of proof available to me. I hit all the emotional hot buttons I could think of. I gave away tons of free content — both in e-mails and in online teleconferences, webinars and videos. And I also made liberal use of scarcity and deadline-based offers.

But instead of trusting my strategy alone to generate peak response and average sale, I labored over every e-mail, every script and every sales page as if the success of my campaign would be determined by the copy alone.

I was recently watching the AWAI Bootcamp of 2007, a seminar that costs a sweet penny to attend, is typically sold out months in advance and puts out more millionaires each and every year than any other venue for copywriters.

Right now I am watching Dr. Joe Vitale, known as the Hypnotic Marketer teach on how to speak to your audience. He is teaching on how to speak on two levels, the conscious level and the subconscious level.

When anyone learns, as taught by Dr. Caroline Leaf they are always learning on two levels. Being a Prophetic writer who uses Spiritual Gifting from the Holy Spirit and not from within myself... I would strongly lean towards the teachings of Dr Leaf when I address the issue of Spiritual marketing, as opposed to the teaching of Dr. Joe Vitale. I am sure Joe is an amazing man..... he is successful and he's made millions in marketing and copywriting. He and I teach from two different kingdoms however. So enough said.

So as I am watching this session on DVD ( I didn't get to the seminar last year, I had Pertussis! So the $ 2000 seminar was sent to me on DVD) as a Circle of Success student at AWAI I have access to any and all of their products... I have perks! :)

He began his copywriting session by saying when he relayed his goals to a TV show that was interviewing him the people in the room got HOT FLASHES when they heard his goal.

I began to think, "Wow, lets create a copywriting package that makes our competitors get hot flashes!" As a matter of fact....

There is an ocean of niches open for any copywriter to tap into . Sadly because of insecurities, fraud and other things that make people not succeed, people continue to fish in their current pond.

Joe taught that the world is a pool of customers and clients and you need to find a niche that is NOT something you are familiar with.

How do you manipulate and create an environment that your client loves so much that he’ll give you his credit card even before he knows what you are selling?

Repeatedly as I was building my home based business between 2004 and 2007 I had people email me and call me on the phone and tell me

I want to join you! I don’t care what you are doing…. I am in!

So how does this happen? And how do you do it so successfully that your competitors will say over and over again the words I was hearing all the time as I built my business:

HOW did you do this?!

Far too often people think that if they copy the methods of other copywriters they will make more money. Joe Vitale made a lot of money when he appealed to the lust of the masses and wrote a press release about how Britney Spears must be using Hypnotic Methods in her Marketing. THAT was interesting. That was very good. His package had nothing to do with Britney Spears, but when he saw her commercial he realized she must be using hypnotic techniques because people are being drawn to her commercial and they all run to buy her perfume and her hair extensions because they dream and desire to be just like Britney Spears even if they don’t like her.

Now while I am not advocating putting your clients or customers into a spell, as a matter of fact I think that would bring a curse, as the Bible states, upon my business and my future. But I already knew this kind of thinking when I was building my business. When I ran my kitchenware store from 1998-2001 I was applying this all of the time! I marketed a $ 500 kitchen mixer like Amazon.com to a group of people who hated to spend money on things, called themselves frugal and yet they bought from me over and over again, they went into debt to buy from me over and over again.

How did I do this?

I looked at what someone else was doing in a niche that had nothing to do with what I was doing and I got tips from them….. and became hugely successful.

So, what niche are you in? Lets say you in the business of selling children’s products. Rather than looking at what all the other websites and businesses are doing who market children’s products, what if you looked at what lingerie businesses are doing.

How to Sell Children’s Products Like Someone In the Lingerie Niche!

The people in the lingerie industry might use more flesh than I am comfortable with to sell their products but they also use something that is much more important. They use words that compel you to buy their products. They use words, which is COPYWRITING my friends, to urge you, draw you, give you an overwhelming need and desire to PURCHASE their products. The girls with their breasts hanging out and the perfect thighs are just there to help you resist your urge to guard your checkbook.

All resistance is taken away and before you realize it you are buying their product!

So- how do you appeal to Mommies who are guarding their checkbook and you want to sell them a $ 299 diaper bag?

You put pictures of sweet kissable lovable adorable make your breast milk let down babies on the website!



You show pictures of Moms with obedient and clean kids who are perfect and a diaper bag that is making Mom feel like she is still at the size she was before she got pregnant, actually you make her FEEL LIKE she is at a size better than that and the diaper bag is going to make her feel just as sexy and on top of her game as her lingerie did!

This my friends is called Hot-Flash Marketing… and thinking outside of the box.

Spiritual Marketing and How to Seeing Into a Niche's Future

There's alot of talk about spiritual marketing these days… everything from the Law of Attraction to manifesting your future with the power of your mind. When I refer to spiritual marketing however I am referring to marketing that taps into the Kingdom of Heaven and gives me insights I could never have apart from the annointing that God Himself put on my life.

If you have never read, "When Heaven Invades Earth" by Bill Johnson, you need to do that. It's a book that really opened my heart and spirit wide to all that God had for me.

It revealed to me that for me to reject or deny or doubt what God wants to do in my life is literally just a form of religion. A religious spirit might be aware of what God is doing but it won't go to where God is going. When I began to walk in the calling that God Himself gave me in marketing and the world of the internet SUPERNATURAL things began to occur in the realm of my spiritual marketing!

As a seer who can see and feel where the Spirit of the Living God is going, I have a Secret Service type annointing to see where markets are going. I have been able to see and predict and take the plunder in alot of niche's in the past 11 years. Recently God told me it's time to plunder another market. It's time to take back the profits for the Kingdom of God and it's time to do it now for HIS time is now.

I am obeying.

The GLORY OF GOD is what gives me favor.. it's what will make my competitors shake their head and wonder what on EARTH hit them! Actually it won't be something on earth that has hit them… it will be something from heaven that has robbed their profits because GOD WANTS HIS MONEY to do what HE WANTS in the earth!

I am seeing into a niche right now and I am prophesying that in the next 12 months I will dominate that niche. People will be set free in that niche. I will see God bring deliverance to the captives in that niche…. I say COME HOLY SPIRIT.

If you are confused or have been deluded with some of the teachings out there on spiritual marketing, if you have done everything the Guru told you to do and you are still broke…… consider this. There is a different way. And I know how to do it.

Christian Copywriting and The Power of the Prophetic

I have recently gotten several inquiries for Christian Copywriting. Ironically I did not do any advertisements for Christian Copywriting. I began to research what would come up when I typed in Christian Copywriting and sadly… it was NOT what I operate in. It was a mis-mash of very successful business owners who design their destiny with the power of their mind and their create their own life and their own world because they possess power to do so. They can manifest money and they can create profits because the power of their mind is directing them. 

Wow. Let me just say that this is NOT the reason why I have been able to generate millions of dollars in profit online.  Actually the reason I profit as I do…. is because I am a Prophet and I operate and write in the Prophetic. If you are a Christian and you are looking for some Supernatural Copywriting that taps into the KINGDOM OF HEAVEN and does not use the kingdom of the mind but rather the Kingdom of Life, Light and Power that was given by the Lord Jesus Christ HIMSELF… if you want to tap into the THIRD HEAVEN and you want secrets that can ONLY COME FROM GOD in your marketing… I have that available. 

Because of this however I am VERY cautious who I will promote. Bottom line:

Whatever I do and whatever I touch PROSPERS.

I am a Supernatural Copywriter that operates in the prophetic and I can get words from God Himself thru the gift of the Word of Knowledge and thru insight that can only come from heaven invading earth and because of that the things that I do and the things that I touch prosper.  What does that mean? It makes money. 

The power of the prophetic in this time period of the Kingdom of Heaven is intensely powerful. It is uniquely strategic and I am NOT surprised that God has sifted me into the niche of copywriting for His glory and I am showing up on search engines all over the place because He is God, I am not and He is interested in the calling He has on my life.

If you are looking for a copywriter who can look into the future, who can see where the market is going… hire someone who is prophetic.  If you are looking for a copywriter that is going to grow your empire and establish you in a kingdom that is going to burn eventually, hire someone who is not prophetic.

How Do You Set Yourself Apart With The Four U's

The Four U's of marketing are imperative in every campaign that will be successful. It is what will drive traffic, increase results and create a profitable bottom line.

URGENT: You must have an urgent pressing problem that you are solving with your product or service

Example: Weight loss. You are solving the problem with not being able to lose weight. You are solving this problem in a way that is unique and it is superior and it has proof. The problem is WEIGHT LOSS, the 4 U's must answer this.

UNIQUE: Your solution must be unique, it can not be like everyone else or you will never win in the competitive world of business. If your solution is not unique don't even BOTHER marketing it. You must be so unique that when people see it they might not even read or care about your proof and they are already compelled to your useful and ultra specific solution and they BUY BUY BUY!

USEFUL: Show me proof. Shoe me as much proof as possible.. this is what your client or customer is begging for, although they might not know it. Tell stories, tell testimonials, give documentation that is clear and concise and compelling!

ULTRA-SPECIFIC: I need to be so compelled that you are my ONLY answer that not only will I be doing business with you but I will tell every living breathing person I care about! I will bring referrals without being asked, I will mention you wherever I go! I will applaud you as the GO-TO person in your field!

If you direct every campaign, every project, every sales letter, every brochure with these components, you will win and you will be in business for a long time!

Home Business Management With Kids In The House

I am been so fortunate to have over 15 years of online working experience. All of these years were with kids in the house and homeschooling. Now before you get some kind of delusion in your head of perfection let me just say that while things have never been perfect in our home, they are quite profitable.

I have homeschooled for 15 years, and the success that we have had in homeschooling our kids and running a home based business has even formed their career choices. My 19 year old just secured a full time career with one of my clients, heading up a Media division of their company. At 15 he did his first bid in that field, something that might not ever have happened if he wasn't homeschooled and given the chance. When he was 12 he was actually running my shipping dept from our basement and while he might have made some mistakes , he learned alot about the realities of business. His boss recently said that his ability to shift gears on a project and not have a bad attitude was one of his best assets to the company. Where did he learn that? You try raising three boys under 10 and you'll learn as well how to shift gears and keep a good attitude. I remember training my son, "If your attitude stinks and you get an A+ in Chemistry I won't give you a diploma." Since attitude determines his future more than anything that was one of the biggest lessons I have trained my kids with.

I recently shared at a MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) meeting a technique I learned early on in business that I still practice after all these years. Learn to be production focused. Look at what you have gotten done rather than all the things you didn't get accomplished. Reward yourself for the small things and you'll be amazed at how much you accomplish. If you are constantly walking around with an attitude of 'things are never done' you'll most likely be depressed. Life as a mother, a business owner and a homeschooler means things are never done, but if you can learn how to grow personally thru the demands of each season of life, you'll create results that amaze you.

Learn to block out family time in your schedule where even if a client calls with a multi-million dollar deal you won't answer the phone. Train your children to respect your business hours and empower them to know what to do should an accident occur that doesn't necessarily demand your care. You might think you are simple surviving the chaos but as the example I stated with my 19 year old demonstrates, you might be actually grooming a future business owner for success!

Running a home based business, homeschooling and learning to live in the process rather than struggle has been one of the greatest accomplishments I have ever personally experienced. It can be for you as well!

If You Can't Write Sales Copy Why Are You Even Trying?

Recently I had a client who is very successful in her business hire me, or so I thought, to write some sales copy for her. She has amazing products and already has an amazing website. Her branding is coming along nicely…. I have no doubt she will make alot of money with her products.

When I began to work with her however the situation became UNWORKABLE. What do I mean by that? Well let's just say she needs to hire someone else to write her copy.

As I was working to do her website sales copy, that she wanted me to edit, she was constantly telling me what she knew, or didn't know about copy. Well in a round about way. A confusing way.

"I have HEARD that you should do this.

I have HEARD that you should do that.

Well you are the expert and I'll do whatever you want or think is best that is why I am hiring you but I have HEARD that you should probably do this and it's so confusing to me"

This is how the conversation went. AROUND and around the dove tail we went. Around the circle… around and around.

Kind of reminds me of when I first began coaching with Dani Johnson. www.danijohnson.com Let's just say I was a royal pain in the butt! ( this client is not, but I have to say I was!) Dani was hired to help me to MASTER, become the best, to be the PRO at prospecting and closing. As she began to coach me I would argue with her…. when she would ask me if I wanted to learn or if I wanted to just give her my opinion of what I thought would work- I always said I wanted to be the best. I wanted to learn.

There were many times Dani would ask me, "Sandi, have you made a million dollars prospecting and closing yet. " I have in internet marketing and I have in sales copy in my kitchenware store, yes. But on the phone with a prospect, doing a cold lead that came thru a radio call- no. I had never done that. So! You see that while I might have had some experience and even expertise in some areas, I had no expertise in the areas I had hired Dani to coach me in.

Long story short, I was very teachable, I did exactly what she told me to do. I did not question, I did not ask why or what for. I figured if I fail her methods suck and I can continue broke. NOTHING lost. But guess what. It worked. I got a 95% closing ratio with cold leads on the phone in under 16 months. I broke international sales records- and EVEN outpaced my original sponsor, Tom Challan. I love Tom but I became good competition for him.

When I was always comparing what I did online with what Dani was doing on the phone… I got confused.

When I did exactly what Dani did to succeed on the phone, I was SUCCESSFUL! HUGELY! 1/2 million dollars.

THEN…… when I went to school to be a professional copywriter lets just say it's been amazing! Has paid me 5x what my investment was! In under 8 months.

So…. back to my client.

I believe she will do amazing…. I think she needs to rework her sales copy. Not being the only person who has told her that.. ( she has had 6 other copywriters give her tips and suggestions)….I know my opinion is not one sided.

However the lesson is this. When you hire a copywriter, unless you have had SUCCESS in writing sales copy…. give them a chance to succeed for you already.

I guarantee what I write. But if someone is always going to have me give them my education, validate why we do things, explain everything I do…. it's not worth the time or the headache.

When you hire a copywriter, let them write! You prepare for sales.

This client of mine and I went our seperate ways. I pray she gets someone to rewrite her copy. She deserves the best!

But if she doesn't let a copywriter do what they do best without requiring an understanding of everything in the process….. she'll most likely be where she is today a year from now.

Your Blood Speaks....... I was totally wrecked today




















Today I opened my box of CD's I got from http://www.ninalandis.com/ and I did not expect what happened... not to say I really didn't expect it but I didn't expect the Kingdom of Heaven to INVADE my home and my heart like I did from this new CD.

Music has always ministered to me and I minister to God thru music. I love to dance prophetically to Him and change the atmosphere thru worship..... as I put the CD into the CD drive of my Macbook the heavens collided with earth right there in my living room. My hair was standing on end I was immediately praying in the Spirit... wild.... my 12 year old comes to me and says, "Do you feel that Mom, my head is spinning, it's crazy!"..... we enjoyed God right there in our tiny home in Indiana...

... and it gets better... I put the CD into the CD player of my Yukon XL and was going to drive the boys for a sleepover at some friends... and it followed us. No small wonder... the annointing is ON that CD and it is TRANSFERRABLE.....
